Quotes By DNA

TAG:

"A learning experience is one of those things that says, 'You know that thing you just did? Don't do that.' "

***

"Anything that happens happens, anything that in happening causes something else to happen causes something else to happen, and anything that in happening causes itself to happen again, happens again. Although not necessarily in chronological order."

***

"Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so."

***

"The history of every major galactic civilization tends to pass through three distinct and recognizable phases, those of survival, inquiry and sophistication, otherwise known as the how, why and where phases. For instance, the first phase is characterized by the question, how can we eat? The second by the question, why do we eat? And the third by the question, where shall we do lunch?"

***

"It is known that there ara an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time, are merely the products of a deranged imagination."

***

"The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned."

Some quotes by Douglas Noel Adams, aka DNA, the writer of famous The Hithchiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Coming To Quotes,
Lemme Quote, some words from
one of my all time favourites
Pulp Fiction...
Looks like, they know something
about..amsterdam ..here

JULES(Samuel.. L.Jackson)
Those are hash bars?
VINCENT
Yeah, it breaks down like this: it's
legal to buy it, it's legal to own
it and, if you're the proprietor of
a hash bar, it's legal to sell it.
It's legal to carry it, which doesn't really matter 'cause – get a load of this – if the cops stop you, it's illegal for this to search you.
Searching you is a right that the cops in Amsterdam don't have.

JULES
That did it, man – I'm fuckin' goin',that's all there is to it.

I totally concur.. ;-)
.nothing.

Hahahaha.. Well, law is not exactly as easy as before but it's still free to use it, to carry it and to sell it -only in special coffeeshops:-).

Recently they were trying to forbid to smoke hash in some certain public locations (but I guess the general smoke forbid was also playing a role for those decisions..) But I just come home from a public live radioshow with live music and some of the audience were smoking hash without any problems, as always :-)

The free hash use is one of the things that won't change easily in Holland, although the contemporary Christian-democrat government is trying to limit its use. But they will probably go away in the next elections anyway :-)

I expect to sense hash smell in the air for the upcoming summer in Amsterdam as usual :-)

Take care

PS: Talking about Pulp Fiction quotes about Amsterdam, we DO eat french fries with lots of mayonaise :-)
